In this post, I will cover the demographics and psychographics of two magazines as well as the audience profile for my fashion magazine. Audience is very important to know who your target audience is. Through figuring out the demographics (age, gender, socio-economic group, professions, etc) and psychographics, (Interest's, lifestyle, etc) it is possible to provide large amounts of information about people to better understand them as well as communities.

Demographics:

Age: The age of people that would read this is 18-35 because younger people of this age might be more active, therefore being more fit as well as being more concerned with there outer appearance.

Gender: The colors remain neutral, appealing to both men and women, it also appeals to both genders by the mentioning of health and wellness. However, it probably appeals more to women as there is a woman on the cover wearing a shiny and sparkly outfit. There is also a mention of “Feel Good-Look Good Fashion,” which women might gravitate towards more.

Socio-economic group: B(Middle class) and C1(lower middle class). The main groups of people reading this magazine are middle class and lower middle class because in this issue, the main focus doesn’t require spending tons on products but simply benefiting one's life.

Profession: Anyone could read this magazine, but people with less pay than upper middle class might focus on this more because once again it doesn’t require spending tons on products but improving one’s well being. Anyone who has free time to read the magazine could read it though. Jobs that might enjoy this are teachers, nurses, and office workers.

Psychographics:

Main image: The main image features a woman doing yoga whilst on a surfboard in the ocean. This appeals to those looking for relaxation, healing, and a better well being.

Interest: The target market for this magazine is people looking to become a healthier and happier version of themselves.

Color Scheme: The color scheme is white, gray, silver, and pale blue.

Lifestyle: The reader of this magazine would probably have busy days, leading to them not taking full care of themselves. This can change people's lifestyle to lead a life of fitness.

Demographics:

Age: This magazine can entice those 40-55. This is because those who are a little older would be concerned with doing things to look younger as well as pick up a magazine that focuses heavily on age.

Gender: This would appeal more to women not only because there is a woman on the cover, but because of the wording used on the cover. For example, they talk about Bikini Wax.

Socio-economic group: A(Upper middle class) I believe that this magazine intrigues those with more money to spend on looking younger as well as those who keep up with beauty trends.

Profession: Those reading this magazine would probably have higher paying jobs and would probably have more time to go shopping and follow these beauty tips through. Once again, however, anyone could read this magazine as long as they have the time. Some jobs that might get this magazine are doctors, business owners, and etc.

Psychographics:

Main Image: The main image shows a woman in a gold sparkly outfit staring into the camera. The background is a plain solid light pinkish color.

Interest: The target market for this magazine is older women looking to find ways to look younger, as this magazine is “The Age Issue.”

Color Scheme: The color schemes in this photo are gold, rose gold, and pink.

Lifestyle: The reader of this magazine might enjoy taking time to focus on their outer appearance by going shopping often and applying lots of makeup. This can be due to how these middle to older age women care about looking younger.

Audience Profile:

I am using my research/findings from part one to determine the target audience for my own magazine. I am doing this by understanding that what I write in my magazine as well as how the cover of the magazine attracts the kind of people reading the publication. I will be keeping this in mind as I choose age groups and etc. These specific people would be the ones to read my magazine.

Demographics:

Age: 18-35

Gender: 100% women

Education: These people would be in college and could possibly go on to get a higher education past college.

Work: Lower middle class and middle class jobs are the kind people who read the magazine have due to young age and possibly debt.

Ethnicity: It doesn’t matter what ethnicity the person is, anyone from a different nationality or background could read this magazine.

Psychographics:

Values: Values include looking good and stylish.

Interests/lifestyle: Shopping and keeping up with the fashion industry are examples of interests and lifestyle choices of the target audience for my magazine.
