The genre I choose for my 2nd Genre Photoshoot was food. My goals and thought process in this project was for each picture to capture the details of each food. I wanted the colors and texture to show up.

Some of my success were being able to get a wide variety of foods, good lighting, and backgrounds that matched the foods. Some of my struggles were finding angles that captured the food without cutting out parts of the dish or parts of the background. Another struggle that I encountered was the placing of the food. For example, it was hard to figure out how to position the bowls and plates, along with the extra “props.” During this process I learned how important variety was. Not just in the foods I took photos of but the placement of the dishes. The wrong angle can take away from the full glory of the dish. I also learned to make sure that each individual ingredient in the dish were captured. I learned this by playing around in the editing process by sharpening the photos. Through trial and error I figured it out. The class critique and feedback I received was to keep working on my lighting, framing, angles and to try to stack food to get a front shot. Moving forward I will incorporate this to improve my shots and use different angles, which is something I had struggled with during this process.
