Magazine Cover Sketch

In this post, I will share the sketch of what I would like my cover page of my magazine to look like. I will also be discussing the choices I made when selecting the colors I used and more.

The name of my masthead is Charme Magazine, meaning Charm in French. I believe this name fits in well with the fashion genre. The image I drew is a girl in a bright and colorful dress looking up at the sky, behind her are bushes with pink flowers. I chose this background because it radiated what spring is all about, being colorful and happy. This is mainly because a lot of people are coming out of the winter months wearing heavy coats and long sleeves. This mood that spring creates can be seen in the dress. This is because it represents the relaxed, flowy, and freeing feeling of spring. The colors I chose also aligned with what my main headline was about, colors trending in spring 2023. This included bright pink which is what the color of the masthead is as well. The bright pink would capture a lot of attention from viewers. Similarly, the color pink represents femininity, which can be seen through the dresses and spring clothing that will be shown in my magazine. On the bottom right, I put my barcode for the magazine. I also put the month this issue is for, which is March/April of this year. Lastly, the font I used in my masthead is EB Garamond which is a Serif font. I used this because it looks sophisticated and fancy without being too bold.
