Magazine Genre Research

Health and Wellness: I would like to do a magazine on health and wellness. This magazine will focus on how to stay fit, skincare, healthy and delicious restaurants, taking time for yourself, and more. I like how this moodboard is very happy with bright colors. This is true to my magazine because it is supposed to be a positive influence to help others.

I chose Health and Wellness because this subject is very important to me. Moreover, I think it is important for others to be aware of this and make it something close to them. This genre helps others to be their happier healthier self. This magazine also helps people to understand themselves better to do things that they enjoy doing.

I selected these photos because they represent a healthy and active lifestyle. Some photos here represent restaurants with food that is delicious but also nutritious. There are also photos of exercise such as yoga and going to the gym. Lastly, there are books, skincare, journaling, and more featured to represent taking care of yourself, which is what Health and Wellness is all about.

Travel: I would also like to do a travel magazine. This will focus on the unknown spots around Europe that others should visit. What I like most about this moodboard is that it showcases vague spots that may not be as popular but is pleasing to the eye. The colors in my moodboard is a warm tone to help imply that travel is fun and comforting.

I chose Travel because there is so much to do and so many places to go. By traveling people learn new skills and history. Travel also involves food, which can be very fun to learn about how the food is connected to the culture. Traveling is appealing to everyone, connecting them to their roots and finding new ones.

I selected these photos because they show places that may not be familiar when traveling. These spots are "hidden treasures" due to the fact that they are beautiful must see destinations that do not make the list for top 10 things to do in Europe. As seen in this photo, there are places to dine because food is a major part of traveling. All in all, these photos inspired me to research and learn about the lesser know parts of Europe.

Fashion: I chose fashion because I believe fashion is very diverse. There are so many different styles and trends that it is easy to get lost in it all. Fashion can define who you are as a person. Lastly, it can make you feel good about yourself.

I selected this example because I like how the colors blend together and a new style of clothing that I didn't see before. Vogue is a huge magazine that features huge celebrities, in this one Rihanna is on the cover. This magazine also features other articles such as "The season of coats" and "The fashion fund's radical class of 2019". For these reasons and more, I was drawn to this magazine.

Food: I chose food because food is something that makes me as well as many others happy. Food is something that brings people together, which further inspired me to choose food as a genre for my magazine. In addition, this topic is a very popular one, with so much to cover. There are a plethora of foods, ways to make it, and more.

I selected this example because on the front cover there is a very warm and comforting meal that makes others want to eat it. This meal is something used in Thanksgiving, which supports my point that food brings family and friends together. In this magazine, it not only features the fan favorite dish of Mac and cheese, but "16 easy desserts" and "Our snob free guide to Paris". All in all, there are many directions to go in when it comes to food, and this magazine reinforces how this is true.
