In this post, I will be sharing my final 10 photos I took for my magazine, including my cover photo. I will also discuss the process of taking these photos, which includes changes made, challenges I faced, what worked out well, and more.

This first photo is going to be my cover photo. This shot provides ample room to place my masthead on the top of model's head and the cover lines along the sides, as well as the bar code on the bottom.

Overall, the process of taking these photos were very enjoyable. I waited on the beach while my sisters would change for each different outfits in our car parked right outside the beach. When they would come we would take tons of photos until we got a few that stood out to us. This process would repeat itself multiple times until all the outfits had been shot.

I was able to take time to go to the beach and enjoy atmosphere while talking photos of my twin Samantha and my younger sister Sophia. Originally, I wasn't planning on including my little sister, but I realized that having this variety in models would allow my to not only interview Samantha but also Sophia. This is beneficial for me because I will be able to receive more representation among my target audience by having other people's input.

Not only did my sisters accompany me to the beach but thankfully my parents did as well. While I originally did not think I needed an extra hand, my mother helped by holding props that would be used for each outfit change. This proved extremely useful as I didn't need to worry about holding those items or leaving them on the ground somewhere while taking photos. This helped me to focus solely on the images turning out well by holding only the camera in my hand and not other items that could deteriorate the quality of my images. Likewise, instead of using my I-Phone SE, I used my mothers I-Phone 13 which has a higher resolution. This definitely helped to increase quality and sharpness of my photos than if I had used my phone.

There were a few changes made throughout this process. Firstly, I didn't shoot in Surfside beach as when I began facing a crunch on time I realized I needed to be able commute a beach faster. So instead of drving to Surfisde beach which is farther away from my house, I went to Hammendale beach which is closer to my house and just as beautiful. It also does not require permission to take these photos. Continuing on, I didn't need to order anything online, as I was planning to include fake flowers in my shoot. When looking at my shot list, I had also changed the outfit planned for the color orange. This is because instead of wearing bright orange pants, my model wore an orange Sarong and a flowery bakini top that included pink, yellow and orange. This is due to how I was unable to use the pants from my Interviewiee, Barry Gross, who owns an e-commerce fashion business. This desicion was made as not to risk the pant getting damaged at the beach, which I completely respect and understand. Furthermore, there were also a few more changes of my photoshoot when compared to my shot-list when looking at camera shots/angles as poses the model did. However, the shot list helped me to know for the most part what outfits I wanted to utalize. This aided me and helped me to organize my thoughts as thousands ideas what outfit I wanted to use kept racing througth my mind. The shot list also helped me to know in which areas/parts of the beach I wanted to shoot each outfit. For example, I planned for the "orange" outfit to be next to some kind of greenery on the beach like trees and bushes. This made the process of taking photos effiecent as I knew immediately where to place my model for each scene.

There were some challenges I faced throught this process. Firstly, I planned to begin taking photos during spring break so I would have ample time to capture photos that had good lighting and etc as it was impossible to know if the wheather would be perfect right before the due date of this assignment. However, while happy to enjoy my break, my parents had planned a suprise trip to Orlando where I coudn't accomplish this photoshoot. The first week I came home I spent Monday making final preperations and packing all the outfits and props I would need as on Tuesday I went to Hollenadale beach to shoot my photos straight after school. Limitations that I faced coming at this later time was how the sun began to disappear, making the last round of photos(the last outfit) turn out a bit dull and flat. However there were factors that made my photoshoot successful. This includes how since I came the the beach during the week and not on the weekends, the beach was mainly empty. Due to this, I didn't have to photoshop anyone out of the background as the only person shown in each shot was the model. Also, while towards the end the sun started to set behind trees, daylight savings granted me another hour before it went dark. Whatever issues I had with the sun I just edited the lighting the brighten up the photo and help the colors of the clothing pop out. In the beginning the sun was really bright, allowing me to caputure my "naturally radiant" cover photo. Lastly, there was barely any seaweed present in the water as well as clouds in the sky, helping my photos be as clear and clean as possbile. I am extremely grateful for these conditions that were provided on the day I went to take photos.
